No fuel to the carb

It's an 06 mercruiser 305 with 2bbl carb and electric pump, full tank of fuel.

It runs if I spray starter fluid in the carb, but will not run on it's own. I figured bad fuel pump and removed it hooked it up to the battery charger and it hums, Re-installed it, and hooked it up and it still hums. But not getting any fuel.

Could the fuel/water filter be bad, what should I look at next?

Or, can the fuel pump still be bad, what other test can I do.

Thanks,
Bob

spray starter fluid in the carb,

First don't do that anymore, your going to damage things, if you have not already don it. The motor will run if you just pour a couple ounces of gas down the carb

Being a 2006, I'm thinking its not a carb but throttle body injection (TBI).
What is the motor serial number?

Thank you, the spray was done before I got to it, However, I replaced the fuel filter separator as it had a hole in it, so I think the pump was sucking air. Anyway, new filter and it's running great.

Thanks again,
