I have a '99 F-150 4x4 w/5.4L V8. When engine is warm I have nothing but cold air out of vents/defog. Thermostat is good switch is good. Local dealer said that it was my elec blend door had failed. $600 to get them to replace. Anyone know if there's a way to prop the blend door open or anything I can do to get SOME heat? Thanks in advance. It's getting cold going hunting :(

Re: No HEAT! HELP

Had that happen to my 97 econoline van. It was out of warranty by a year. I screamed bloody murder and got it fixed for $100.00 under some kind of goodwill/owner assistance program.

I told them that there was no excuse for this to happen, that you could go take a 1953 Chevy out of the wrecking yard and the heater door would still work.

It is probably too late, now for you to raise a ruckus.
