This boat is so weird!

I found the issue with the motor not starting sometime. It appears someone had cut the red and black wire on the main harness before it enters the side of the motor (for some strange reason). They join the red and black wire by putting the wires together and taping them(Only)(great workmanship). It poured water out when I found the wiring issue. I drained it and connected lugs to the wires and screwed, taped, heat shrinked, and taped again to make a good connection. That fixed the intermintent issue of it not starting.

Now this time I get out on the water and and it runs and starts great! So I fish alittle and go to start it again and "click, click, click" no start. I am now thinking starter issue. I am thinking no way there can be so many issues with this boat!

I use the trolling motor for the reat of the night, (caught a 30 pound Blue Cat!) anyway, get home take the cover off the engine try the starter switch and still click, click , click. I remove the top cover and rotate the flywheel a couple of turns, I then hit the started and it fires right up. I am thinking what the hell is going on? Yes I am now confussed! Only thing I can think is the starter may be weak. I am at a loss as to what to do next. (get started rebuilt?)

Any suggestion you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
