but honestly, It couldn't tow like today's trucks and wont last near as long. People are pulling LS engines with over 200,000 miles that still have crosshatch in the cylinders! and most parts still within spec (seriously its pretty common) and an LQ-4 bottom end that can hold 800hp! Stock!. and you old f-150 Wont meet current EPA regs, think the fed for that one. And thank everyone that that likes the new styling that reduces room under the hood. Give the engineers some credit almost every year horsepower and fuel economy go up, and they are fighting to meat regulations that by design will continue to get stricter until we reach zero emissions. Did you know GM and Ford are having to work together now because of the R&D costs to meat new regulations, They are designing a 10 speed automatic for trucks. The regulations have become so tough to meet competitors must work together.

Don't get me wrong I LOVED my 79 K5 makes me sad every time I think about letting it go :( and My favorite truck is still a "short-wide" Chevrolet, but there are compromises ex: comfort, economy, longevity. Now a short-wide with a fuel injected LSX engine, slightly modernized interior :love-struck:

that would be nice, but would settle for a battery or oil filter that you don't have to pull a tire and remove the inner fender to get to, light bulbs that can be changed without removing the front bumper cover to get to, or put a jack under the motor and removing the mount to change a belt. the battery in the trunk is ok, but realize some people carry everything and the kitchen sink back there for the tech to unpack before changing the battery then repack. some of the recalls i do i'm thinking who was the mental giant thought this would work in the first place:noidea:

I'm not saying they get everything right lol. The battery in the finder well crap i hate, but the if that Pontiac breeze(ugly anyway) had a hood like a 72' Monty Carlo(awesome) it wouldn't have to be that way. or a Lincoln mkviii they wanted a low slung hood- as a result you have to fiddle around with the oil filter spilling oil every where trying to get the damn thing out from between the cross-member. and then try not to dent the new one squeezing it around the power steering pump

I would just like a owners manual that was written by a human and not a engineer. Manual says undo wing nut and remove jack (from where?). Its real sad when you have to phone ford to ask where they have hidden the jack on the new 4 door F150 and they have said im not the first person to ask. Oh its easy you just pull the rear seat forwards and down then remove the tray and undo the wing nut and rip it out by the handle that you have to put your hand in the hole to feel as you can not see it.

They have tech writers that write the manuals. You need to blame them.
