Re: No more Levi's jeans for me
Now ya done it. Ya went and made me get all serious. Hate it when that happens.
I raised my kids already. Going to Colorado this weekend for my youngest son's wedding. Went to his college graduation (DDS) earlier this summer so I feel this qualifies me to butt in about a few things. First off, I know I didn't do everything right raising my kids. This website ain't big enough for me to list all the mistakes I made. Getting past that I have to say "Bullsh*$@" if you think you don't have any input as to marketing carp you see going on around you. This is the position KRS takes in opening this thread. He's exersizing his cight to free speech, taking a position and using his 'vote' to show his disapproval. Too much sex on TV, supermarket rags and such. Vote against it by not buying it. Think the Libs (or whatever label you want to put on the 'bad guys') are dictating too much. I got news for you...in a lot of cases they are. How?? Because their votes are being heard above yours. Why? Because you are not exersizing your right to vote in a collective manner as they are.
I have worked in the retail business for a number of years. Most recently for a business that sells firearms. One of the requirements in purchasing a firearm is that your ID must have a current physical address. If it doesn't you must provide a government issued document which demonstrates your current physical address. When a potential purchaser asks what document would meet that requirement my first response is......what?....You guessed it...A voters registration card. It is a sad state of affairs, the typical response I get. "I don't have one, what else will work." I am so tired and saddened of hearing that response. You want the right to keep and bear arms? GET A CARD AND VOTE! You want the right to teach your kids about sex? CHANGE THE CHANNEL OR DON'T PURCHASE THE SUPERMARKET RAG OR JEANS. LET THE MARKETERS KNOW YOUR POSITION! The 'other guys' are doing it, WHY AREN'T YOU?!
And another darn thing guys. It has been my experience that far more women have voters registration cards than do men. Not implying anything here..just stating a fact I have witnessed.
Didn't mean to get fired up. Just that it really ticks me off when so many guys get a blank face and look at me funny when I ask for their registration card. The same guys that complain about anti gun laws getting passed.
OK, off my soap box now.
