What is the part number of the pump that was ordered for you?

Seahorse, didn't get it, but will post it as soon as it comes in. Called three dealers all said the kit 5004558 was 242.95 and the pump was about the same price. Ralph beat the price of any of my local dealers and was alot more willing to spend time on the phone helping me out.

Taz

Seahorse the part number is 5004558 kit assembly, fuel pump and limiter. which is the part number that replaces 438400. Boaters Supply has it listed as an asssembly which leads me to believe they have done away with the kit itself and now send the whole pump as a assembly. I could be wrong but it would go along with the prices that I have got. That being the case I saved about $50 with outboardwizard over my local dealers.

Taz

Yep, that's the latest kit, all right. Since it is all reparable now, the oil section is only about $51 should you ever need one after the 1 year parts and labor warranty is up.

You can find the repair parts in the Parts and Accessory page.

seahorse, what parts and accessory page are you referring to? That is all I have been trying to find out is how to get the oil section only instead of paying to replace a whole pump. Or are you saying that the new pump has a repairable oil section to where the one I have now does not. My parts manual for my motor has no such page. Is there another manual I need to get. Thanks!!

Taz

As I posted earlier, the newest pumps are repairable and the parts breakdown is in the Accessory section of the parts books or MicroFiche. I do not know if each part from the new pumps will fit the older ones. There have been changes over the years.

Any dealer can look it up for you. Use a 2001 Accessory section.
