I just boat a boat with a Johnson 6 hp as a kicker. I'm able to start the motor, but there seems to be no pee hole. I don't see water coming out anywhere. Does this make sense?

I've got an Evinrude 55 that doesn't have one either. There should be a warning horn hooked up in case it overheats.

What is the model number, some older motors did not have a pee hole.

Have you looked to see if you have a hose off the head area for one..if you do trace it you may have a clogged hose....from insects....if you have one run a piece of mechanics wire up it to see if its clogged..

Now if you do find one and its not clogged..you may have a water pump problem...

Now if it is a older engine it may not have a tell tale..do a search here and there are a few posts that show how to add a telltale and its very cheap and quick to do....

what year is the motor....that helps....

I've heard of adding one before too, but was told that ultimately you are reducing the water pressure where it is needed the most. Guess it all depends on how big of a hole you drill and hose you run. I just don't worry about it!
