No power at all

Well, I have tried to read up on this in my manuals and on here, but I am still lost. Part of my problem is that I am not good with electrics. Here is my issue: my boat wont start, I have no power at all. Instrument panel is getting nothing, starter wont move, and I don't hear any clicks from my solenoid. I have a charged battery, and can trace power all the way to my solenoid. I tapped my started with a mallet and it clicked, while all power was disconnected. Am I right when thinking that if my solenoid is bad that I would not get any power at all to anything in my boat? I have a 1986 Crestliner with a 4.3L GMC and an OMC outdrive. Please help me to understand where to start or how to test this. I would love to get the boat out tomorrow. I am going out to mess around with it now and will be back soon to check for messages.

Thanks,
Steve

Have you checked your key switch?

Re: No power at all

ok ok. I feel like a fing moron. It is fixed and I am sorry to anyone that is/or has read this post. It was my ground connection at my battery terminal. My poor attempt to fix my wire connector went bad. I have made a good one now and should not have anymore problems I hope. Well if anyone wants to add anything about solenoids I am still interested, but my problem is fixed. "Usually the problem is easier than you think." My dad always said.

Sorry,
Steve

Don't cha love "easy fixes" :)
If ya got the time, might as well spend some extra time and clean and reconnect all the connections you can, otherwise you may be reposting this same issue in the future.
