No power to coil packs

I have a 50hp Mercury serial # 6368228 and it isn't getting power to the coil packs or switch box. Any suggestions on where to start.

Are you looking for 12 volts anywhere on these components when key is turned on ???

No power anywhere with the key on except the starter solenoid.

Simply that is because the ignition system does not use 12 volts from the battery to produce the spark !-----Spark is generated by the electronics and the magneto under the flywheel when it is spinning at the correct speed.-What issues are you having and you might want to invest in a manual to help understand how this works and how to trouble shoot.

That would appear to be an 83 model.

I was thinking the coils had power on them even if it wasn't running.
