I have a 2008 Tahoe q5i. Charged battery. turn on power switch. Bilge pump turns on. Catyls lights turn on. Tilt trim works. Radio turns on and Horn works all while the ignition is off. When I try to start nothing. Turn the key to the on position and the guages do not move. The instrument lights do not turn on either. Can someone please help me out with my issue?
thank you in advanced

Going to need a voltmeter. See if you have 12V at the 50amp breaker (both sides of it) which is on the motor. If power is there, find the 20 amp fuse/breaker at the helm. Measure for 12V on the Red/Purple wire going into the key switch

What happened? When did it work last? What is the back story? Did you by chance just put the battery in the boat for the year and accidentally connect it backwards for a split second?

Few days ago. Just took the battery out to charge and put it back in. Did not cross connections I am aware of positive and negative terminals. Just not sure what happened. A storm came in one night and I had to pump water out but that's it. Im thinking a wire or fuse got submerged or something.

Alldodge I checked the 50amp breaker and with the key off showing 0.01
When I turn the key it goes to 0.00
Could this be bad?

Would follow the red/purple wire back to the fuse and is probably an inline fuse

This is your issue
There is a 90 amp fuse on the starter post, it looks square and is there to protect the alternator. Put meter on the starter post and you should see 12V.

If 12V is there, then check for 12V on the smaller post off the square fuse (red/purple) wire

I think he will take a cheque. Glad you got her fixed. Good for you. When I have an electrical problem I can't get to sleep, like now. I used to have to call an electrician at the plant to change my flashlight batteries. I am electrically challenged to say the least.

I'll give you my address and I can forward it to AllDodge. Tee hee hee. I hear you, I used to be able to plod around a car or truck. Now I have no idea how to get the huge plastic cowl off the power plant to see what's under it. I have had my Silverado for 8 years from brand spankin' new and have never seen the exhaust manifold, if it has one.
