A friend of mine is the new owner of a 74 cobalt with a omc 6 cyl. I will be the one who ends up working on it for now. he has no spark. Im not super familiar with points so I was asking what I should be checking to diagnose this thing? first I was gonna try gaping and cleaning the points. whats the gap for these? and is there any ohm testing that can diagnose the coil and wiring? Just trying to save him a few bucks over taking it to a marine shop. thanks.
