No Serial how do I date my motor

I just picked up a Johnson VRO 140 for my deck boat. The sticker is long gone. Is there any way to date the motor? Is there another location for the serial number? THanks guys.

Look for a core plug on the block about the size of a quarter, it will have the model number on it.
