Well i get my starter problem fixed. So i fire my motor up in the driveway last night on the muffs runs fine for a few minutes so i shut her down. Dropped it in the lake this morning and no spark at all. It tried to fire maybe once then went dead and had no spark. Checked all my ground wires and connections all seemed fine. I have recently bought a pack, stator, coils, wires all brand new. Rectifier is a old one but it was working a few days ago. I have a spare pack and rectifier i'll try them first a guess. I don't know why all of a sudden it'd would go dead like that.

What's the model number of the motor? That'll tell us the year.

Are you using a spark gap tester or the lighted type tester? If using the lighted type do you get a very faint light?

Clanton, it looks Ok until you look at the county government. Sorry I missed you!

JT, that was my next question too. How are you checking spark?

New strategy i'am imposing. I 'am going to start talking nice to my evinrude. I get it home put the battery charger on her,let it charge up and what do you know it fired right up? I 'am in the yellow pages right now looking for a catholic preist i can rent cheap to do a excerism on it. I'll let you know how it goes. Seriously all i can figure is i flooded it and ran the battery down so bad it wouldn't crank. Although i got a jump starter from a guy that was there and made several attempt at getting it to fire up, it refused. Anyway get it to the house and she fires right up. Anyone ever have this happen to them or do i need to keep looking for this excerist?
