Starter needs to turn the engine at better than 250 RPM to fire. It takes a fully charged, powerful battery to do that when the engine is cold.

Checked the battery and the motor is turning over around 700 rpm....are u saying that it could be the stator gone bad ??

Check your kill circuit, especially the clip on the emergency kill switch; if the clip weakens, the switch will close and you will get no fire.

Re: No spark...1993 johnson115

Put an inductive timing light on each plugwire when you try to start it. Do you have any spark at all? You can disconnect the red plug from the control box under the cowling. Disconnect the main red wire to the starter. Jump start the starter. See if you have spark on any plug. If you do, the problem is in the control box or harness. If you still have no spark, you have an issue with the ignition system on the engine.
