How sure ?-----I am not there with hands / ears / eyes on your motor.-----In my yard I would just go to one of a few parts bins to put another one on.

Look on the top of the cylinder block for a round quarter-sized disc with model & serial numbers stamped on it. It may be hidden by the electricals bracket on yours. Look for numbers 135*****, where 135 is the horsepower, and the next number is the year. "3" = 1973, "6" = 1976, etc.

I know this probably won't help but this is what I found. And yes it was under the electronics.Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_20180910_181544667-800x450.jpg Views:	1 Size:	91.5 KB ID:	10652131

Arrrgh, that's a Johnson. I was talking Evinrude speak. Nevertheless, according to my private collection of serial numbers, it is a late 1973 or 1974. That's as close as I can come.
