I got a 150 Force, thunderbolt ignition: power coming from the trigger to switch box, none to coils (all five coils). If anybody knows something please let me know. Thanks

That was a short lived system, only used for a couple years.
You also need power from the starter relay to the converter box, and from the converter box to the switchbox.

I suggest you pick up a Clymer Force repair manual and closely follow the ignition troubleshooting for your motor. There are several Factory service manuals on ebay, just make sure you get the version for your motor, not the 1989-1991A models, as these will only have the prestolite ignition.

And welcome to iboats.

Do you know which wire sends the power to the switch box from the converter box, is it the violet/white? What is the blue wire for? I have the manual and it doesn't say what wire does what.

Re: No Spark on 1991 Force 150 with thunderbolt igniton.... Help

So heres what I been dealing with:
The boat didn't won't to run at home so cleaned wires and messed with it for a couple of days, cleaned wires again and fired ran fine every time started it. Took it down the road to go fishing wouldn't do anything at lake. Brought it back home and can't get it to do anything now.
I have checked all wires and connections (cleaned them with contact cleaner) all are fine.
Kill switch is normal, flywheel key is not broke.
Have power coming from the trigger to switch box and none to all five coils.
Knew a man that works on boats and he had a motor just like mine, took the switch box, converter box, regulator/rectifier, trigger, and stator off of it and tried on mine. (It does the same thing, I'm still not getting fire to any of my coils.) The man said the stuff came off of a running motor, but rather it went bad of not I don't know.
I have messed with it every day, every once and a while it will hit like it's going to run. But majority of the time it justs turns over but doesn't hit. (This is with all of my original parts on it.)

Since you swapped out all of the major ingnition components with no change in symptoms, I would "assume" that they are probably OK. This coupled with the fact that you did at one time get it running with the original components. I would take a close look at the wiring again. Double check all of the grounds with a meter. Make sure the battery gound to your block is good. There is a ground from the converter box. Also make sure you're getting 12 volts to the converter box. 12 volts is supplied by a red wire that comes directly off of the large post of the starter relay. This is the same post that the battery cable is connected to. There's also a very important ground wire that goes from the coil mounting plate to the block. Make sure the grounds from each coil to the mounting plate are good too. To totally eliminate the "Kill Circuit", disconnect the Black/Yellow wire that comes out of the switch box. If it happens to start, you can kill the motor by engaging the choke.

Re: No Spark on 1991 Force 150 with thunderbolt igniton.... Help

Okay so yesterday I unhooked the blue wire that comes from the switch box and hooked it to the converter box and then hooked it back up and it sparked. (Which would be exactly like it is suppose to be.) Then I tried to crank it again and it ran. Cut it off ten times, cut it on and it ran every time. So this morning I get up and try to cut it on and it turned but would not run again. I have messed with it several times today and haven't got it to run again it. I can't figure it out, if you know anything I will try it.

I see this is an older post. Did you ever figure it out? Mine is doing the same thing. Ran at home. Took to lake, went about ten miles down the lake to fish. Shut off motor to use electric motor. It has never started since
