I have replaced points, coils, condensor. engine was running pretty good. Now motor will not start. Turns over fine, just no spark. It appeared for a short time that If it sat overnight it would start. Last attempt sparked once, started and now nothing. Does anyone know if this year motor has a kill switch somewhere or info regarding that stator. Thanks for any help.

I have a 40 hp 1964 with running problems keeps fouling the plugs. However there is a vacuum kill switch located on the right hand side of the motor. Is shorts the magneto and also ties in with the ignition switch off key switch. It grounds out the ignition when a vacuum is present.
