No spark on a 33Hp evinrude 1966

I have a 1966 evinrude 33hp pull start. It was my father-in-laws, he put it in away back in 1978. I am trying to start it again, I've replaced the coils,compasitors,and spark plugs, still no spark. If someone could direct me to a diagram of this motor that would help me with the parts and what they are used for that would help. Also some info on the spark problem please.

how did the points look?<br /> and make sure the two black kill circuit wires are not touching. also search the forum forl apping the flywheel tapers.<br /> and be prepared to replace the water pump, rebuild the carb and fuel pump. the 33 was about a solid a motor ever built. just a tad thirsty for what it is

A fellow on here a while back drew up the schematic these engines (had the electric start included). By dawing it himself there is no copyright problems. I can forward this to you if you want, just need an email address.<br /><br />Apart from that, you really want to get the manual for your engine. Try and get the factory manual (ken cook offers a reprint) if you can. The clymers and seloc manuals can be difficult to navigate since they cover many year models and horsepower engines in one book.<br /><br />if you need any more info, do a search useing the forums search engine. pay attention to posts from Paul Moir, and GDane, these guys really know their way around the old BigTwin motors.<br /><br />Good luck with it!

i have a 1966 33 hp. with eletric starter . it is a jewel. it also has the recoil rope . it doesent have a charging system so some times you might need the rope . have some info on the 33 if i can help e mail me at papasage10@yahoo.com
