:confused:Have no spark on my 87 125hp, checked all the wire visually, and bypassed the kill switch on the dash, everything looks good. Installed a new stator and nothing. What next? Trigger? Don't have the know how to test resistance and the like.

Come on--Tell me why you replaced the stator. What was the problem?

No spark on all cylinders is usually to much of a coincidence so you need to check some common areas.

The two white wires coming from the CD boxes are the kill circuit. Both connect to the white terminal in the engine board. Disconnect them and see if you now get spark. If you do, the problem is in the white to blue circuit. At the switch, is white connected to one "M" terminal and blue connected to the other "M" terminal? At the engine terminal board is the blue wire jumped to ground? If not, you will not be able to stop the engine once you do get spark.

Be sure the electronic mounting plate is adequately grounded from the plate to the block. Factory used a black wire from the plate to the bypass cover bolt. If this wire is missing or broken, you will get no spark. I like to "daisy chain" a ground wire from each box and each coil to the ground terminal on the engine board.

Alright disconnected the wht wires marked magneto from the cdi boxes to the engine terminal and regained spark. What now? I did notice that when i jumped the lanyard kill switch at the key ignition there is no current going to either side when the key is in the run position. Any help please!!!

jonnyz! Read Frank's post again!

Check all ground wire connections concerning your CD modules, coils and mounting bracket and be sure all is grounded properly!
A bad ground there can cause the engine not to fire! max!

Thanks Max, will check all grounds again and if i find nothing wrong i will install a daisy chain ground like Frank said tonite.

Re: No Spark on any cylinder 87 F 125

Heck no, I am really at a loss here. Put in the new trigger just cause i had it and nothing. And all my grounds are now 100% daisy chained from the boxes to the coils then to the electronics board ( 4 differant spot) then to the bolt on the bypass plate then for good measure to the main bolt ground on the block were the neg. cable from the battery comes in. Nothing. Unless i pull off the white cdi box wires from the engine terminal. Then it will actually start. Told this to the only guy in my area that will touch force and he said for $70 an hour he will try to find it. Sucks!!

Also have a new rectifier on the way( why not, replaced every thing else, might as well complete the set).

jonnyz! I beleive the answer to your problem is in Frank's reply to your previous question!
The problem is probably in the white to blue circuit at the ignition switch, check it out! Reread Frank's reply! max!

Holy Frickin Moly!
Frank, Max you were right! Loose connection on the lanyard kill circuit wire were it connects to the M terminal on the ignition switch. Fired right up and ran like a champ! Thanks so much guys!!!!!!!!! Now on to find a thread on the lack of idle only when motor is in the water!

Re: No Spark on any cylinder 87 F 125

The cause for the idle problem your having was just mentioned here recently but I can't remember what it was! Had to do with back pressure with the engine in the water. max!
