1989 60 hp johnny .Before going fishing I pre start the boat at home. To no avail today it didnt start. The last time i took it out it ran fine.So I checked for gas getting gas to carbs. So I checked for spark taking the plug out and grounding while turnig over no spark on all 3 cyl. I have a brand new power pack I put on and still no spark. All wires look to be in good shape and properly ran. Can all of my coils be shot at the same time?? What would be the next trouble shoot that I can do my self. Im thinking my key switch can be bad or the stator What is next step????

Joe,

Check the in line fuse that is near the starter. It is in an in line holder that looks like a wiring connector.

Joe, a shop manual would be a great help to trouble shoot. No spark at all could be a bad timer base, stator, or ignition switch. Also, verify the new PP is correctly connected.

Good luck.

The in line fuse if that was bad would all spark stop or would the motor not turn?????

If the fuse is blown, the starter won't spin.

c/6

Hooty

All kinds of troubleshooting here, just scroll down to your particular model.
