Last week I got my 1984 90hp Evinrude hot. Ended up melting the orange wires to the coils on one side. now I have no spark. Did I burn up my stator? I also did a compresstion check all cyclinders are at 120 psi. So that i feel is ok. Just no spark has me stumped.

Hello James tibbals.
Yes it could be a burned stator, but it can also be a burned power pack.
You can control the power pack, as shown on this link

outboardpart.com

Duke3...we don't allow direct links to sites that are in compition with iboats. You can give the name but no links please.

And control of the stator as shown on this link

outboardparts.com

But anyway, get a manual to your motor.

Yes it could be a power pack but i have two of them. Wouldn't I still have power from the other pack?

You need to get a manual and follow the ignition trouble shooting procedure before you start throwing money at new components.

Re: no spark

Okay, start with all the wiring. Make sure none of it is burned thru the insulation and grounding out. Make sure you have continuity thru all the wires.
