i have a 1985 johnson 20 .i originally was having problems with lower cylinder being dead. i had bought a new coil for it.everything tested so i took it out.it died again in the bay when running hot . i replaced powerpak.put it on,tested for spark,none in bottom.when i switch primary wires around still no spark in bottom,but in top yes to both wires.both plug wires and plugs are new.the other coil was good.tested it on a spark tester and meter.
