Alright.. my girl is dead. After trying to get it started for a few days, I finally got someone to give me a hand only to find out that I am not getting any spark to the distributer. I replaced the plugs as a measure prior to finding this out, but I needed to do that anyway. So I thought I'd trouble shoot to my limited abilities. I replaced the soliniod (sp?) only to find out there was nothing wrong with my original one. Any ideas here? Thought I'd throw it out there before bringing it in to the marine repair shop.

Thanks all. Oh, it's a 96 Merccruiser 350 2BBL with the Thunderbolt 5.

Do you have any voltage between the + post on the coil and the block with the key in the run position? Any voltage with the key in the start position?

You can get a cheap digital multimeter for about $20. It makes it alot easier to troubleshoot. Do a search on this site for Thunderbolt 5 or Thunderbolt V. I seen some good info to troubleshoot this type of ignition.
