I had the motor idling in the water for about five minutes. Then it just stopped and I couldn't get it to start again.
I checked that I had fuel flow at the fuel pump and fuel makes it to the carburetor. I bought a spark tester and hooked it up and while pulling the rope, the light does not light up on the tester. I would say that this means that I do not have spark for both spark plugs.
I read that I should try the kill switch, which I thought could be the culprit. I see that there are two wires from the kill switch: one goes to the ground on one of the screws on the ignition coil and the other goes to the connector for the power pack. I read there should be a yellow/black wire, but I do not see it. I just see these two wires and both are black.
My first question is if I disconnect the wire that serves as a ground, am I actually disabling the kill switch?
Secondly, both the ignition coil and power pack appear to be closed. they don't appear to open up for testing. How can I test why I am not getting spark with these two items?
