i have a 470 I/O 1980 model it wont start i put a new points,condenser,plugs,wires,battery,battery cables,cleaned connections on all battery connections


i have good compression
power to coil no fire coming out of coil

Was the Tach wire shorted to somethhing? Doesn't seem like it would cause a no fire condition otherwise?

dont realy know didnt check it out that far just know i got it running and i took it out for the first camping trip this weekend and the motor started knocking so bad news there
