no tilt up but good tilt down

I have a 97 Johnson 150 ocean runner. Tilting down fine. Tilting up is intermittent and getting worse. I can hear the relay/solenoid click when pushing switch to tilt up from all three switches on boat but tilt motor inoperative. I can switch back and forth from up and down and finally will tilt up but sure this will play out soon. please advise on how to troubleshoot. thanks cajun

there is a blue and green wire going into the tilt motor. Is one for up and the other for down?

you may have a bad solenoid, you can switch them and see if that reverses your problem.

I had the same problem with my 115 v4 and after of a lot of problems in the sea,i looked at to the relay.<br /><br />When I changed the corrosived relay with an automotive piece that I found with the same specifications, the problem finished and works perfectly.<br /><br />Try to check and replace it.
