Hello...I have a 1974 6 hp Johnson Sea Horse outboard engine...I started having over heating problems...Change thermostat and water pump. Flushed water through water tube to engine head. Water pump started working. Now I have intermittent water flow problems...Have flushed engine several times and have felt blockage in the water tube to thermostat passage. It clears up and water flows through engine. After shutting down engine for several hours water will not flow again. Drooped leg and shot water up water tube and got good water flow. Put leg back and started engine...No water flow. Dropped leg again and ran wire up water tube and felt for blockage. Didn't find any.

Help!

Re: No water flow

when you flushed it was the thermostat out of it. If you are flushing it with the thermostat in it you are more than likely just pushing the blockage to the thermostat and not out of the system.
