No winterization.

OK I know what your going to say shame on me for not winterizing my boat.
I have a 2001 bayliner with a 3.0 Mercruiser. I have been faithful on winterizing my boat since I had it but due to some unforeseen circumstances I was unable to get this done. I did manage to drain the water out of the engine and drive before the first freeze. I have never faced this issue so what do I need to do to make sure nothing gets screwed up if it is not screwed up already.

As long as you drained the block & stored it with the drive in the down position you should be OK.......​

from my experience that is the most important thing, draining all the water, other things such as fogging are also important but you could/should be fine without...not recomended though .

Since you did drain the system you should be ok. You would be surprised at the numbers of engines that get drained every year as the only thing done for winterization. Not the best way to treat your investment, but many get away with it...... for a while.
Anyway, change your oil and filter, change your fuel filter and check for water in the filter, change the gear lube, pull the drive and check alignment lube the ujoints if possible, check and lube the gimbal bearing, lube the prop shaft so you can get the prop off next time. Basically all the good stuff you do getting it ready for prolonged storage. Then finish up by following the summerization threat at the top of this forum.
