Going to try some vertical jigging while we cruise the lake on the pontoon. The lake I live on is loaded with panfish so we have a healthy population of larger pike and bass.

Off topic and late to the show but this reminded me of a guy in a bar one night that for no reason decided to punch the bar keep. The cops showed and it took 7 cops to take this guy down and get him in the car. His last words before they closed the door were Obviously you guys aren’t from Texas.
This made me laugh. Years ago my wife and I were in a place called the million dollar cowboy bar in Jackson Wyoming. It was early afternoon on a weekday. Was us and another couple in the place I later found out were farmers from Texas. We were having lunch when the bar tender got mouthy with this guy from Texas. That Texan flattened the bartender in an instant. Lucky his wife settled him down. Guy was a mountain of a human being. Wife and I got lunch AND a show😁

Very nice
We trolled from Claville Bay (Lake Mead) where we launched from and stopped in Fire Bowl Cove for breakfast where we fished anchovies from the shore, the pic above. A few small bites, but nothing big enough to catch.

Then went out in the middle of the cove and did some bait fishing with anchovies for a few. Then, started throwing some lures. I setup my umbrella rig with 3 silver white shad swimmers, a Grey one and one with a green tail. 4 casts and caught a small striper. Destroyed the gray one on the rig. Replaced it with a white sparkly one, and the green one with a silver/white.

After an hour or so doing this we started trolling with the canoe again. Caught a smallmouth on the way out of the bay. Trolled all the way east to Hamblin Bay. Baked the whole way in the sun. Got up to about 95.

Stopped for a break and it started to cloud over, with a breeze that was supposed to start about noon.

Trolled the whole way back. On the fish finder they had moved from 50 to 120 feet with an occasional one at 10-30, to 10-30 feet with occaisional one deep. Caught 4 more stripers 9-14 inches, on the way back.

Canoe.
