We went out this morning on lake Mohave, from willow Bay. Had a great time.

We Caught a 20 smallies and a small bluegill. I caught 10 of the smallmouth. Also caught the smallest and the largest which wasnt big. They were all pretty small. But fun to catch.We fished near were we caught a 3 pound smallmouth last weekend.

All were caught on green pumkin color Yamamoto super grub jigs.

94 degrees when we launched at 5:15 and 114 when we pulled the boat out at 11:30.

They can be setup weedless, or in a texas rig.

My nephew says they work pretty well in Tennessee where he lives as well.

Local sporting goods stores, including bass pro, don't stock this color, I got them on amazon.

Curly tail grub jig! My all time favorite bass lure.

And I've caught a ton of other fish on them as well. Up north, white worked well, but down here for bass, the pumpkin green does the trick. For saltwater, I've used white (okay) but "almost" clear/gray got the snook!

Thank you metalchewy , I figured as much , different name for something I have ( bought off Temu ) that I use for trout and flounders. Its surprising what trout will go for , I have had success with Berkley gulp nuclear chicken paddle tails . Go figure

The proprietors of the lodge we are staying are from Arizona. About 7 years ago he said to his wife that it was too much to keep up 2 places and they should move to Alaska full time. She responded, "I will follow your dream until it becomes my nightmare." I thought that was a pretty good answer. They have been living there full time for 7 years now and she is still enjoying it, so all is good on the home front for the lodge owners.

In my estimation, there are two kinds of people in this world:
1) Those that would rather be hot and sweaty, and then go into an air conditioned building.
2) Those that would rather be cold, and then go into a warm building.

I definitely prefer the latter. Full time Alaska in the winter is hard because of the lack of daylight and consistent cold. I love that though. It's been hot here in Minnesota for the past month and I would rather have -40 and a blizzard than this any day. I don't find heat and humidity enjoyable at all.

I used them for trout as well in Fl but with a red head and white body. That was in the 70’s and 80’s and they didn’t have the fancy tail yet. Just a straight body. Once in while the reds would grab it as well. No match to a live shiner / green back though and the all reliable shrimp.

Yeah , you oughta see it now , 15 years ago the had an earthquake and they are still fighting over who gets what fixed ...shameful when you see how quickly the Japanese got their Fukushima earthquake sorted. But yes it is a nice place , Dunedin ,I think , is even better if your into old buildings .

Heat index is made up hype.

Was your 104 heat index the result of 94 degrees and 50% humidity or 84 degrees and 90% humidity?

I agree. There are lots of ways to make things sound worse than they really are. My wife is really good at it. If the wind chill is -5 then that is what the temp is to hype things up. And if there a storm coming oh boy things are going to get really bad go get the bread milk.

I just made the choice to not go to the lake today. And i've not been to the lake this year yet.

I think thats a wimmin thing , mines pretty pessimistic ..,especially when commenting on the possible out come of my latest idea's or actions
