They seemed to be unprepared beginners with bad luck. They didn't notice the 2 foot water rise. Floated down to sheer sides, fought like hell when the wind got stronger to not blow into said cliffs, and were totally wore out when we happened across them, floating down the river.

We were the last boat on the lake. Would've had a long dangerous ordeal of a night if we hadn't stopped..

I've been in a canoe out there when the wind is white capping the waves. Can't imagine being on a floatie.

Was out on Lake Mead yesterday, launched from Calville Bay. Pulled up to a point in a cove we like to fish, and just drifted with the wind.

Had a boil or two flow past us and were catching a lot of stripers and a smallmouth. Used the purple colored Yamamoto grubs. (Cinnamon, w/black metal flake on the package). Caught a lot of striper and a smaller number of smallies . Also caught smallies throughout the day at different times casting those.

We trolled after 930 and caught a bunch more. Stripers and a couple smallmouth.

At 1130 we Had a count of 37 fish caught. Trolling we both rolled a double. Each of us caught two fish at once on the umbrella rigs..

I was using whitish bottom with a silver grey top. My buddy was using bluish top with whiteish bottom.

Tried to get to 40 for the round number.for the next two hours and got to 39. Was a great day for fishing. Got home at 4ish.
