noise-please help

if i turn right or left i hear a roaring noise and when i trim up or down i hear the same noise.this is while iam runnig the boat. if iam going straight and trimed all the down it runs quiet. do you think the ujoints are bad this is my first inboard.thanks for any help .

ujoints and or the gimble bearing is gone. Bet water got in there once.

you were right ,ujoints, gimble bearing were shot due to water getting in .one more question,can auto u joints be used in the drive line. thanks mike

I do and have never had any problems.
