Re: Noise when changing gear - Just change gear oil

I used the impact driver's tip too because it seems to be thick enough to fit the screws. A big flat screw driver is not big enough. However I'm still need a bit more practice to get it fit to the right tightness. Will drop the gear oil tomorrow to check for any sign of water.

Re: Noise when changing gear - Just change gear oil

Hi again, I just dropped the oil this arvo and found no sign of water at all. The oil also has the same color and texture as when it went in the gear box the other day. However, I was in the water for only a few hours so I can't say for sure that the seals are all good. I guess the next service will be nearer than scheduled.

Re: Noise when changing gear - Just change gear oil

Just realized that by carrying out the right operation (quickly shift/snap to gear), I only adjust the problem and not really fix it.

My remote control lever/handle seems to have a bit too long cable. When I put in in forward, it is not in gear straight away until the handle is above 30 degrees forward or more. This seems to cause the grinding noise because it is only half way in gear (just my theory :) anyway)

Could someone verify this and show me how to adjust the control cable? Thank you in advance.
