I after de--winterizing my 2005 sea ray 185 sport I ran it on cups. This is the first time running for the year.
I shifted into gear and notice some clicking and slight grinding sounds. This is my second year having the boat and am not sure if I have ever shifted it into gear while out of the water before. Is this sound normal or should I have it looked at.
I have a video of the noise.

I see three things that need to be addressed

Shifting into gear should be done quickly but just to neutral, in short there is no issue with the noise. It will always make a bit more noise (clanking) when on muffs

The drive looks to be above trim limits, if not my bad but sure looks like it is

Don't rev/run the motor above 1500 rpms, and is hard on the impeller

Thanks AllDodge and Bt Doctur
So I was shifting it to drive and then back neutral.
I then gave it a sec then I shifted to reverse just to show the sound going to both positions.
It was trimmed up some but not all the way.
I take it I should have it trimmed down when running on cups? note the sound is the same trimmed down.
So I should not run it above 1500 RPM on cups, got it.
