Noisy Minnknota Endura Trolling Motor?

I recently purchased a endura c2 30 model.

I have the motor correctly installed on the transom of my jon boat, and have the propeller submerged over 9"

when using settings forward 3-5, and occasionally forward 2, a loud clicking sound emits from the trolling motor. This sound is aggravated mostly by sharp angles when turning or as mentioned, higher speeds.

the motor and prop is not hitting the boat nor is there any fishing line stuck in the prop.

ive also installed a brand new weedless wedge prop and made sure the prop nut is not too tight.

Do I have a faulty unit?

You don't mention if you bought it new? If new, I would swap it back with the store you bought it from because if you send it back to Minn Kota for repair you will probably get a refurb back.

If you bought it used then just call their tech dept. and tell them your issue. They have great customer service.

For technical questions about your Minn Kota product, please call 800-227-6433.* You can reach us
Monday-Friday between 7:00am and 4:30pm CST (in U.S. and Canada).

Sounds like something in the transom bracket has slop in it, causing the clicking/popping noise. Ive had this with 2 trollers and it was very annoying, both of them had slop in the transom bracket and I had to shim things to take up the slack.

I'd call MinnKota as Expedia suggested, see what they say.

I don't doubt it's not making the noise out of the water that since there's no load of the motor pushing on the boat, or the motor torquing on the transom bracket.

The transom bracket is between the 1" (approx) motor shaft and the boat, part that clamps to the boat and holds the motor shaft.

Put the Trolling motor down and push on the actual "motor", different angles and forces, see if you can reproduce the noise.
