It's -15*C (or 5*F for the lower 48) tonight. I'm used to the sounds of the ice cracking as the pressures build up on a lake but the river is so different and even though it not my first winter here the sounds are still keeping me awake!
I couldn't even begin to describe the sounds I'm hearing right now for there's posibly nothing else quite like it on this earth.
It most likely has to be because of air getting traped under the ice along with the cracking but either way it makes the hair go up on the back of my neck.
My five dogs are stuck to me like velcro and the two cats are nowhere to be found.
I tried recording it but even as loud as it is the recording didn't come out??
It still cool to witness nature.
