Re: Non-soakable foam ?

So you didn't put foam in?

I'm about to replace my deck so I don't know if the foam is water logged or not.

The whole foam thing is a personal choice if you rebuild everything. There has neen a lot of discussion on here about using sheet foam and noodles. Personally making space for all that foam is tuff on a small boat. Besides if you want to convert your current set up to something else (i.e. center consol) there may not be enough physical space to put enough foam in. If my boat sinks then its gone anyway. To help I put in a huge bildge pump. Not perfect but what is?

Re: Non-soakable foam ?

I am struggling with this decision myself. Like many others my foam was saturated. Now I have to make a decision between safety and potential putting something back into the boat that's going to soak up water and cause the rot process.

Is there any pourable foam that is better then what was put in my boat from the manufacturer? I heard the the higher density pourable foams, does not allow the water to penetrate as easily. Has the foam improved over the years, or would the foam Expandable foam I put in my boat now be similar in it's affinity to soak up water as what Regal used back in 1996.

Thanks
