wondering if my wood shed with powertools in it is an acceptable place for leaving my johnrude 4stroke 8hp 1999 motor for winter storage. temps go down to negative 20 on 5 or ten times a winter.... ?

thanks

Sure, why not.
Cover the holes with something to keep the mice out and you should be fine.

the motor isn't winterized and is going to be exposed to freezing temperatures? just simply change the lower unit gear lube and use fogging spray into the cylinders, (directions on can), along with 2+4 fuel stabilizer in your gas, then you will be safe to store it outside

.... and make sure all the water is drained from the lower unit.

Store it in an up-right position. Then you got no water worries. Also after it's in that position, rotate over a couple of times to make sure all water is out of the pump.

Or store it inside somewhere. Basement maybe ?? Still need to do the routine maintenance stuff though.
