Thanks for the tax collector tip! My house is on the north shore of Starke Lake. Maybe we'll run into each other. I haven't seen any gators here yet. Then again I only moved in 3 weeks ago. Thanks for the offer on tech advice!

Thanks Cookin....The PO said he had for sale for 8 months. The only reason I can think that it took so long to sell was 1. the manufacturer is out of business or 2. the OMC outdrive?? What kind of "style" do you prefer? Everyone told me to get an OB but family boats with outboards are kind of hard to find.

The best family boat in my extensive experience is a center console with bow seating and an outboard, maintenance free interior. I only say that because you asked; once someone buys a boat I don't tell them what I think they should have done differently. But when that motor gives you serious trouble, weigh the options on replacing the whole rig rather than repowering--that's the beauty of only having $2000 in it. you could use it for a season and walk away, and still be ahead. then, you might stick with that style or try something different.

Noted. Thanks for the advice. We'll see how much the fam enjoys boating. The center console would definitely be better in the intercoastal.

well if you get them into tubing i advise going to lake fairveiw its about 5 miles form you maybe more you just take siver star to 441 and make left. There is also where you will find Orlando's only marina they are good place to get to know they can get you almost any part for a good price. They also have wet and dry slips if you decide your gonna use it a lot over the summer. Let me know if you want the info ill PM you the website and phone number.

I play softball at the Fairview ballpark. I know where the marina is.

The family better get used to gators because we are tubing at our home lake. haha!

lol ya it is a lot cheaper when you pull out of your yard an are 1500 ft from the free ramp lol
