Noob question on throttle shift cables

I've spent the last 3 months restoring a 1981 Bass Tracker III with a 40hp Mercury 2 stroke (402) and a Mercury Quicksilver remote control... I'm guessing same year, everything seems stock. The throttle and shift cable do work but the plastic cover is dry and in some places I can se rusted wires poking out so I figured I'd better buy new ones.
Searching the web for the exact model/number has been overwhelming, I'm guessing I need to buy those Mercury Gen I cables but I'm not sure so, please help me out on this... also the length, I measured them and they seem to be 11' end to end, but 10' if I measure only the plastic cover. I don't know which is the right way to measure them.

Your local friendly MERCURY dealer will help you.-----He / she will likely have the QUALITY cables in stock for you.

I live in Mexico, online shopping is my best way.
Already took a dive into a few websites and havo found lots of deals and offers, but I'm not sure if what I'm buying is the right cable.

the stock cables would have a length stamped or printed on the sheath, however it sounds like your sheath is coming off
