Re: Noob Question!!

Update: I removed both plates (switchbox) and switched places with them. Rewired and put top on bottom and vice versa. Now I'm firing on all 6 (hooray); still not starting though. I did a vac test on fuel lines and it seems to be pulling about 3-6 psi but going to put new seals in anyways. I guess last thing to check is the timing. Lord this motor is getting on my nerves. I'm spending more in tools to check each thing than I have in parts!

Re: Noob Question!!

ITS ALIVE!!!!!! Ok I've got it cranking up and starting for about 10 - 15 sec and then it dies out. After a few tries of just trying to run it like that to see if it was just some cleaning out it needed my overheat siren went off... I'm not sure why it would overheat if I have the water muffs on it? any help with next steps would be awesome!

Re: Noob Question!!

dont do anything more than idle on muffs, your hose probably doesnt have enough pressure to keep up with the required water supply for raising rpms, that and free revving is super bad. did you turn any screws when you were playing with the carbs?

Re: Noob Question!!

You should consider changing your power packs. Had the same problem on my black max 135 , changed the packs , and it was ready to go.

Re: Noob Question!!

No. The only screws i've turned are the idle stop screw and the maximum spark advance screw. I believe part of my problem was my throttle cable was set too high so when it turned over it was revving up very high. I have adjusted that but now it just doesn't want to start again. It is trying to turn over though so just a few more tweeks to find the hot spot...
