How often should the Fuel Diaphragm be replaced?

Had it the engine for 5 yrs now, and never done this. It is an 88 Force 125, so I ordered the Kit to rebuild and replace the parts in the fuel pump, just was wondering for future maintenance.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

Re: Normal Maintenance Question

I subscribe to the theory of when it breaks, fix it. I'm sure you'll have other posters who will disagree. The only thing that I change every two or so years is the water pump impeller and spark plugs.

Re: Normal Maintenance Question

Your right. I know what you mean, I am like that on most things, but the boat with a Force Engine needs care. So I do everything that I can to keep anything from getting to the point that it breaks, and I don't want to be stuck, and never have in the time I have had this engine so I'll keep doing the same things I do to it now. Just making sure, but the diaphragm is rubber also, I believe and probably will deteriorate over time, this is why I was asking about this.
