Re: North Korea performs underground nuclear test
Re: North Korea performs underground nuclear test
Once we had a solid track record of soundly defeating our enemys frees up a lot of military resources. Because after all, war is the first step to peace.
If we do have to put some crazy dictator back in line you could best bet the public would be all for it.
Indeed if we were to finally get around to acting like a superpower and actually use all that military we've paid dearly for the past 60 years, China would conduct a more overt arms race. The solution is simple there to, just tax their imports into this country into absolecents.
Today the president is extremely limited in his ability to even back up what he should say or do. At the rate he's become irrelevant to the world China could take back Formosa and the only price they would have to pay is listening to Condi say "they're in big trouble now."
Remember, after 9/11 there was overwhelming support from all sides to go to war. That support has only deteriorated because of one mistake or miscalculation after another.
Some understandable, some not, some unfortunate, some avoidable, some legitamate, some not.
Still a lot of mistakes and in my opinion many are his rightfully to bear.
For a President that is supposedly riding on the illusion that he is the great protector of national security I'm thinking he's put at risk our national security like no other.
I'm not sure most here would recognize one if one was to come along.
After all, for years now everyone has been argueing that their Republican turd doesn't stink as bad as the other guy's Democrat turd.
The best thing that can happen for this country is if we were to all vote for any candidate, any, that doesn't have a "D" or "R" next to their name.

Keeping in mind the total action that I suggested above consider these likely dynamics.Well we sure share a lot of similar disdain for the state of affairs Skinnywater.I'm just not convinced that there is any specific rational act that the current administration could have done to curtail this Kim Jong mentality.Sure the US could crush NK like a bug.The trouble with that is the uncertainty of exactly who stands with the US in its mission to shut this creep down.Namely China. They really hold the trump card on this one.

The partisan politics and division to the degree they've become is a result of a lack of leadership....period. A lack of leadership by both sides. There isn't the competence, or the will, or the true characture from any in office to rise above all the hash and trash and become a hero.Put the blame where it really belongs... a Country divided (by dirty partizan politics) is already half way to defeat.
