Hey guys looking for some advice. I have a 26 ft pontoon with 4 stroke Yamaha 2011 with 38hrs on it.. Last year my first season I upgrading to a 4 blade prop with no issues... Prior to this season I removed prop to grease and reinstalled correctly.. It was installed and torqued properly.. Well took it out for its first tide this year and when I get to 3000-4000 Rpm it blows out and revs high and appears to slip.. Thinking I hard a spun hub Ireinstalled
My original prop and same issue except not as noticeable until about 4500-5000 rpm

Any advice on what my issue may be

Thxs everyone

No first hand info but from a quick glance at the exploded view, you may have an issue with
the "clutch dog".

Have you added or removed or placed some weight differently? more people perhaps placed differently?
take a look under the boat anything dragging or hanging down.Have you tried trimming the motor?Usually can't move much and if it had moved a little it could create problems. If there are passengers try moving them a little at a time fore aft port /starboard etc.
You maybe have to lower the motor. On rare occasions you sometimes have to raise the motor.

Well I feel pretty stupid. I've only had the boat 1 year and I found the sweet spot on my trim last year and used the gauge this year to set it exactly in the same place. Well i took a ride with my mechanic after trying to figure it out all day and the gauge or trim sensor is nit reading properly. Motor was trimmed to high. When I put it all the down and eye ball the trim, off she goes with no problems... Well it worked out with minimal aggravation :) thxs again

Also probably didn't help that I was running on fumes which is less weight on the rear causin it to sit higher in water..

Well thats a pleasant conclusion.I usually trim by sound and response. As i'm sure you know the there isn't much trim range on a pontoon.
Go have fun.
