I used the email link but the emails got returned twice, so I dont know about contacting Starcraft. I'll probably end up pulling it off and having it welded, at least I have the chunk. My only worry is that I've never worked with rivets before and will have to obtain the right tools.

All you need is a hammer, punch, chisel, and the rivet tool which at sears can be had cheap for the old fashioned style. Or a drill and drill bit just big enough to take out the shaft of the rivet and knock off the head of the rivet. The drill method is a lot faster and cleaner if you gouge the metal with it the rivet will cover it up, the chisel could put a nice gouge where you can see it.

Why even bother? My gf (first mate) crashed my 3 wk old boat into a dock at full speed. It's got a few dings, dents, scratches, scrapes but so what, it still works just fine. LOL

go to the boat junkyard and yank a corner off an old one.

Or look around the ramps that I keep hearing about, populated with incompetents--surely someone has hung a corner on a piling or other boat!

I did buy corners once for a Lowe so you might find something close from another company--get a pair and replace them both if appearance is a concern.

Nice job Yooper. I am originally from Marquette myself. If you put a new corner piece on like was stated, use aluminum rivets. Stainless steel or other dissimilar metals will cause electrolysis and pitting. I don't recommend the half azzsed JB or epoxy methods. If you really car for your boat treat her right.

Rivets are easy, and if I'm saying it's easy, then they are VERY easy.The tool is cheap and the rivets come in different sizes so either match up with an existing one or buy a variety pack with 10 or so of each size. They are handy to have around. Practise with one or two if you must, and they are easy to drill out if necessary.
BTW, that red mark on the transom....That wouldn't be blood from banging your head on it as you were saying "STUPID STUPID STUPID " would it? LOL

Those are large rivets, no $50.00 rivet gun will do the job, go to an auto body shop after purchasing a new corner piece...Ford uses those size rivets to attach door handles and the tool (we have one at the shop I work at ) resembles a 3' long bolt cutter in size...good luck brother !
