Re: not firing

Give us a serial number. A 150 with a distributor would be early 70s. The Black Max replaced the inline in the late 70s. Unfortunately the sensor in the main housing is the likely culprit. I replaced one for a customer recently and that part was over $400.

Re: not firing

Carman, There is a troubleshooting procedure for the distributor version of the inline 6. It is courtesy of Clams Canino, and may be found by doing a search of this forum. To paraphrase it, you must have +12V on both the red wire on the switchbox(always hot), and the white wire on the switchbox (from ign switch). Next you remove all three wires from the dist to the switchbox, and jumper the brown and white switchbox terminals together. When the black connection on the switchbox is touched to ground the coil should fire.
