When I was in high school, my brother and I would take our Dad's 23ft boat down to the Keys. Of course the ramps were $10-20 and thats alot of money to a teen, we would rather spend our money on beer, bait, gas etc. We had found this old beat up ramp on the end of a dirt road that was deserted, it was hardly suited to launch a canoe or jet ski never mind a heavy ass boat so we would bring two large lengths of wood, similar to railroad ties (spelling) and one of us would get into the water with a mask on to line up the wood with the trailer tires so we could launch and retrieve. This was done many times in the dark when we could hardly see... Now my brother has three boys and we are raising them on the boat as we were and we have often talked about how stupid we were using that ramp, Thankgod for ramp annual passes in this day and age...Mark
