Ah, I see. Two things then, first if the connector has a air leak, the fuel pump will suck air and stop the supply of fuel to the pump, hence no fuel to the carb. Second, fix the air leak at the fuel line connector. If the carb is still not getting fuel, it's the fuel pump itself.
An easy fuel pump test is to remove the fuel line at the carb inlet. Place this hose in a can and pull the starter rope. Fuel should squirt into the can if the pump is working OK. As a side note, pumping the primer bulb bypasses the fuel pump and delivers fuel directly to the carb. Be sure your tank vent is open too.
