I have a 2000 mercruiser 4.3 & alpha. It runs fine and never goes above 175 degree's but I noticed that the starboard side exhaust riser feels alot hotter than the port side. Anything to worry about?

Thanks, Jim

1 side always runs a little bit hotter than the other. That's normal, just has to do with the flow of water.
However, I would measure the actual temp of the risers with an IR temp gun. If they are over 160F then you are having a cooling issue.

Thanks for the reply's. I always wanted a IR temp gun anyway, guess I have an excuse to buy one.

Gotta love the "I just had to have this...so the boat doesn't blow up"!

Take a look at the Craftsman Professional autoranging multimeter, model #81079. It has both the infrared temp, and the temp probes. And you get a great troubleshooting multimeter!
