Hey guys. This is my first boat. It is a 2017 Lowe 1467 with a 20HP Mercury 4 Stroke. I have to turn the throttle about 1/3 open to get any throttle at all. At WOT on the handle it doesnt seem like the motor is actually at WOT. Here is a video of what I mean:

Do you think the throttle is actually getting fully open? Any thoughts?

Welcome aboard.

Look into the carb or throttle body as the throttle is cranked wide open. The throttle plate will be completely open. In the vid, that may not be so easy, so; A new motor on a new boat - I would let the dealer look at it. The motor may not have been set up right from new.

Thanks! I am really not thrilled with my dealer and they are an hour away. That still may be the best option though.

I look at things like this - I paid for for the warranty, so I'm going to use it.

I have no manual, but it looks like the linkage has a lot of adjustable parts. That's why I said about the set up.

An hours drive isn't far to get the throttle fixed, and the motor completely checked out.
Wondering if its like a governor on a truck, they don't want you going wide open throttle all day long.
If your not going to take it back to the dealer, better get a factory service manual.

It is not like a governor on a truck. If anything, the motor may have an RPM limiter. But as described the motor is not even running, so it's a mechanical issue.
